Dr. Suzanne Bernier
Memorial Award in Skeletal Biology
Awarded
annually
to
a
full-time
graduate
student
at
The
University
of
Western
Ontario
who
is
carrying
out
a
Masters
or
PhD
thesis
research
project
in
the
field
of
Skeletal
Biology.
Selection
is
based
on
academic
achievement
(minimum
78% average)
and
research
accomplishments.
Preference
will
be
given
to
female
candidates.
A
committee
of
faculty
who
are
members
of
the
School
of
Graduate
and
Postdoctoral
Studies
and
are
working
in
the
field
of
the
Skeletal
Biology
will
select
the
recipient.
A
student
can
only
receive
this
award
once.
This
award
was
established
by
memorial
donations
from
the
family,
friends
and
colleagues
of
Dr.
Suzanne
Bernier
through
Foundation
Western.
Value: one award annually at $1,000.
If no candidate is deemed exceptional in any given year, no award will be presented that year.
Research Support:
The remainder of the annual income available for spending will be used to support research expenses of students and faculty members working in the field of Skeletal Biology at The University of Western Ontario. Use of these funds may include support of the “Suzanne M. Bernier Lecture in Skeletal Biology”.
